Crestmoor and Lomita Pump Stations Rehabilitation Project

This project consisted of the rehabilitation of two existing sanitary sewer pump stations. Improvements on each pump station included the replacement of pumps, grinders, MCC equipment and all piping connections.
The Crestmoor station required the construction of a new building and its equipment, the refurbishment of the existing building to house a new stand-by generator, and the installation of 700 lineal feet of pipeline.
The Lomita station included the installation and connection of 2,200 linear feet of 8-inch HDPE sewer force main, 650 linear feet of 12-inch HDPE gravity sewer main, and 2,600 linear feet of 8-inch Ductile Iron Pipe water main.
Due to the proximity to residential neighborhoods, a Caltrain station and a local elementary school, significant and regular public outreach was a major aspect of the work.
