Storm and Sewer Repairs

Client

City of Belmont

Location

Belmont, CA

The City of Belmont identified over 1,700 linear feet of sewer and storm lines "at risk" and in need of rehabilitation before implementing the second phase of its pavement management program. Situated in residential neighborhoods with steep terrain and narrow streets, the project includes 2 storm lines and 14 sewer lines. The work utilizes the trenchless pipe bursting method when replacing existing vitrified clay pipe (VCP) with 6-inch and 8-inch high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe. This project required open cut trench excavation for localized spot repairs, re-connection of sewer laterals, rehabilitation of 24 sewer manholes, and coordination with Mid-Peninsula Water District when water mains share the same utility corridor.
