This project included the assessment and rehabilitation of the chlorine contact tank which provides the final treatment process before water is discharged into the bay. The condition of the existing coating, concrete walls, and steel piping were evaluated, and concrete core samples were taken from various locations in the tanks for analysis.

Rehabilitation included the cleaning, preparation, and coating of specified metallic appurtenances, the removal of all specified concrete coating materials, and the replacement of existing valves in the Chlorine Contact Tank. The repair of metal surfaces consisted of epoxy filler or welded plate repair based on the size and depth of the pits and the repair of dry structural cracks consisted of epoxy injection grout and seal wet cracks with chemical injection grout.

This project also included the installation of a baffle weir wall, a 24-inch butterfly valve (BFV), an electronically actuated 48-inch BFV, and an electronically actuated 60-inch BFV.
