Delivery of Silicon Valley Clean Water’s New 12kV Switchgear A Success!

Tanner Pacific is happy to announce the successful delivery of Silicon Valley Clean Water’s (SVCW) new 12kV switchgear. Transported in two pieces, the switchgear was carefully positioned on top of the recently constructed steel structure which rests on a reinforced concrete slab foundation. This foundation ties into thirty 109-foot piles to ensure a finished floor elevation above the FEMA flood level and to provide protection from potential earthquake damage.

Reliable and Efficient Design

Upon completion, this second electrical power distribution switchgear system will meet the electrical demands of the upcoming installation of the plant’s front of plant receiving lift station and headworks. It will also allow redundancy to the electrical supply throughout the plant. The system is designed to feed power generated on the SVCW site (through photovoltaics, battery systems, and cogeneration engines) back into the PG&E grid. It includes a state-of-the-art battery system, which will enable the facility to be self-reliant during peak demand and includes provisions to accommodate approximately 2/3 of the power to the new front of plant facilities and equipment.

Tanner Pacific is providing CM services on this project and looks forward to working with the JF Shea-Parsons Joint Venture Team as they begin the installation process.
